I once applied for a position in a methadone support clinic in Edinburgh, along with full CV. I had been registered as a pharmacist for 6 years and had long-standing knowledge of the drugs and AIDS problems in Edinburgh at that time (1993). I would have taken a considerable decrease in salary, but I felt at the time I could provide essental input. I received neither reply nor acknowledgement regarding my application. The position was filled by an out-of-work 'history teacher' who, it transpired, was also a drug addict. Perhaps some of you will understand why my attitude now is 'WHY BOTHER'?????
