You have insight, the majority of codeine addicts will not admit they are addicted, just that the headaches come back if they stop. Main problem with Ireland in past has been soluble Co-Codamol.

Oonagh,
I would like to make a suggestion.
Have you ever had any specialist help from an addiction service? Your GP or your college health service should be able to refer you. You have done very well on your own and I'm sure that with just a little help you could get there completely. As johnep says you have already got over the hardest part by admitting to yourself that you have a problem.
Most people think this type of service is only for people who are addicted to alcohol or illegal drugs but they can and do deal with all sorts of addictions. I'm not sure what sort of waiting lists they have in your area but the sooner you ask for help the sooner you will be able to get it.
Just one word of caution - be careful about getting involved with other people who have the same problem. Although they can offer useful support you may find you take on their troubles as well as your own.
