So.... how does pharmacy in Northern Ireland compare with pharmacy in England?

    What I know is...
They code prescriptions instead of endorsing.

Had to do a project on it when I was a younger pharmacist.

    Health and Social Care Documents

NI tariff is mixture of Scotland and England rules.
(or England and Scotland are derived from NI tariff - to take the other point of view!)
    You would really enjoy it!
Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
    What do you want?;..................

Interesting, thanks. Have you ever worked there?

Eveything exactly the same Bobbin, apart from as Pharmanaut has alluded to, each item has a unique code which is used for payment. Must admit didn't know there was a difference in the tariffs. In terms of workload comparison not really in the same ballpark, meth addicts are few and far between, generally very laid back.

Haven't worked there, but visited a pharmacy or two.
Generally people seemed very friendly and genuine with it.

Sometimes the regulars get too cosy and start venturing into the dispensary. Remember one oul fella who wouldn't shift from the dispensary seat until he had read The Mirror (which he hadn't bought). Some of the other regulars would ring up and ask you to price a white loaf next door.

No doubt next week's Irish budget will bring opportunities.

Genuine really. Any border gives opportunities and with the Irish Budget likely to raise VAT, cross border tourists will flood into Northern Ireland to boost the local economy.

Is the UK's VAT not to rise to 20% in the new year as well though?
