Pharmacists holiday entitlements may be the same but self-employed pharmacists don't have ANY holiday entitlement and are likely to pass on training days etc at the moment.
I don't know about the North but in the South pharmacists salaries have fallen.

I still agree with your main point - the real problem is an oversupply. They will not admit this with a new school of pharmacy due to open in the University of Ulster at Coleraine. You wouldn't want to tell all those bright eyed A Level students the truth would you?

The economic situation has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of locum days available, it just bugs me that they just have to put out such nonsense. I guarantee you the poor cretins in the new Pharmacy School are being told they will have jobs galore to pick from. Ah well, has anybody got anymore Iris Robinson jokes, it's the only thing keeping me sane over here.

Is she the new Mrs Robinson? I never met any ladies like that when I was young.
    Good advert for HRT.

No shortage of jokes, although you need a detailed knowledge of NI politics to get the laugh in most of them.

She is clearly suffering from mental health issues, serious enough to prompt a suicide attempt, so rather than laughing we should perhaps have a little sympathy but it would be easier if the situation wasn't so ripe for satire.

    I fully agree Hibernia.

Here is a man who has been given no other option but to resign everything he has worked for in life, because of the actions of the one person who I can only assume he thought he could trust in that life, above all others... his wife, his partner.

He has my sympathy, but above all, he has my utmost respect.

    Dignity.

I see in the Irish News that Lloyds are holding a recruitment fair in Belfast for pharmacists to work in Britian, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
They obviously know where to look.

My Da saw that too Hibernia, this must be at least the third one they have had in Belfast. According to them, the previous events were amazing successes, which given the current job market in the North is hardly surprising. Never thought the Irish News was big seller down south though!

The Irish News is read all over Ireland, because it is the Irish news.

Culchie, I have sources all over the island, and beyond, who keep an eye out for pharmacy related matters and report back to me.

'Da' of course was a character in the hit comedy show "Give My Head Peace" - one of the funniest things to come out of the Troubles.
