guys i went to a pharmacy school in england but would like to work in hospital pharmacy in northern ireland. i am just wondering do things work differently over there? is it possible to pursue the same route to doing a clinical diploma? i am currently doing my pre reg in england, but would appreciate any advice on pursuing the diploma while in northern ireland.

..I'd wait for the job offer first...heavy competition for all jobs in NI.

Lamzee, is there any perceived bias in northern ireland?say if someone went to interview would their accent/place of origin affect their chance of employment?

I would imagine not in the hospital sector, or retail multiples. Not nowadays--they have equality targets

I suppose all depends if you are a cat pharmacist or a dog pharmacist.

ok, so if i did secure a job in NI, does same system apply to doing a clinical diploma-i.e. become affiliated to say...Queens?
How heavy is the competition for jobs? I know Lamzee said it was big, how much bigger than England?

Can't help you about clinical diploma I'm afraid--no idea.
Competition very much heavier in NI -- vast oversupply of pharmacists.
