production director of?

I really want to work in industry, does that require a 2:1 but my first goal is to get into the US tbh, does that require a 2:1. Also the usa are asking for a 5 year course (they mean A level too) so I have that but my A level grades are crap so will it matter?

Serious I guess.
If you are determined to go to the USA make sure you read.. Jim Plagakis and not the glossy adverts from the US chains. Also don't forget that it isn't the EU so all the employment protection legislation does not apply.

Having said that - wouldn't mind trying ithe USA myself, as I would contract for a certain number of hours (just slightly more than the minimum to get the employer health benefits) and have lots of time for leisure & pleasure. Then again, only 12 years to retirement so might not.

Also your 'A' levels are not necessarily a barometer for how you will do in your degree. Uni is a different enviroment. Go with the work hard, play hard mindset and you can get your 2:1

Jim provides all the links you need to USA pharmacy sites.
I got into industry by becoming a med rep. Easy job in the 60s. few reps and lots of single handed surgeries with no receptionists.

Not a job I would like today

How many pharmacists reading the forum have ever been asked what school of pharmacy they went to once registered?

I for one have never been asked, and never been asked about 'A' levels or 'O' levels either.

Find out if Sutherland do special honours Pharmaceutics - some of those on my year got 2:1 on that and got jobs in industry.

At the end of the day - its up to you...

Pharmaceutics is unique to pharmacists. If industry wants chemists, it emplous B.Scs, engineers eyc. however pharmaceutics is something we can do that others cannot. I made the mistake of doing pharmaceutical engineering, thinking I would be working on antibitic production. when tried to get a job, found straight chemical engineers out in front.
