Is there any placement opportunity in Cardiff???

A voice from the past! I did three months with May and Baker at Dagenham in 1954 working in the manufacturing laboratory for injectibles. Have to say it put me off working in manufacturing and I spent my career time in marketing.

However, the experience of handling equipment was valuable later on when I was trying to get a factory into the 21st century. They had pumps dated 1862!

Unfortunately, with the move overseas of so many companies, little basic chemistry and compounding is left. Where are Allen and Hanbury, British Drug Houses, Allied Laboratories, Whitehall Laboratories, Bush Boake Allen, Syntex, Parke Davis, Warner Labs,Gaill Baiss, etc,etc now. All gone.

All that is left for most companies is an office handling sales. You will have to go to Ireland. South Africa, Eastern Europe to find a pharmaceutical factory.

Umm I was wondering...for apply industry...Is there a minimum grade requirements? Since I'm not that acadamic...is that a glimpse of hope of me to apply industry??? Here's are my grades for A level.
Math B
Chem C
Bio C

since i'm a second year i've started to work harder...and my last year I've got only 2.2....Is that so bad???

At the moment I'm just planning to carry on studying... and then apply for phd onwards...during the phd will be doing conferences...hopefully industrial pharmaceutical companies will hire me in the future...or just carry on doing research...Anyone got better suggestions for me?
