Under what conditions do you store etoposide infusions? At my trust we store them at room temperature to prevent precipitation, but two of my colleagues insist that they used to store them in the fridge for the same reason.
My trust is the same as yours. Ours are stored at room temperature although the wards often put them in the fridge in error. We find they precipitate as they cool down. There is nothing in the cytotoxic handboook to suggets storing in the fridge as far as I can see.
Definitely at room temperature. The solubility is only 0.4mg/mL. So if you've got a bag of 400mg/1000mL N/S, it's so close to the limits of solubility that putting it in the fridge will tip it over the edge. Saying that, when it does precipitate out it looks rather pretty - sort of a snowglobe effect!
