    Teaching hospital over non-teaching?

    Hi

what are the advantages of choosing a pre-reg place at a teaching hospital over a non teaching hospital; if any?

What do teaching hospitals have to offer over non-teaching hospitals?

advice and guidance would be much appreciated.

Bigger hospital means more likely to have a wider range of specialties which you may rotate through eg HIV, liver disease, mental health, and consequently more specialist pharmacists. Also more likely to have more pre-regs with you to help each other out during the year. However most teaching hospitals are located in the major cities so competition is massive.
