Hello all!
I hope this doesn't come across as too naive but I'm still at uni and thinking of doing my pre-reg in hospital. However, regarding the topic of this forum, are diplomas a necessary part of professional development within the hospital sector and if so, which diplomas are out there for me to pursue after my pre-reg?
Advice and feedback much appreciated!

Generally speaking, yes a diploma is needed to progress up the career ladder. However you have years before you before that stage and so things could easily change. For example, it's quite likely that you may have to totally self-fund it or at least make a contribution to it.

Hmm, interesting! So I'm assuming that at the current moment in time, your hospital sponsors your diploma? Mind you, as you've mentioned, I can't see that staying the case, especially considering the 'only the ones with the money and not with the brains should be further educated' culture that the government is heading towards.
Thanks Nik.
