    hospital pharmacist with caution?

hi, I'm a 2nd year student and received a caution on my 18th birthday. the caution was for 'handling stolen goods' (sounds a lot worse than it actually was - was given a football ticket that my girlfriend found). Anyway, just to get out of custody early I accepted the caution. Was led to believe by the police that its just a 'slap on the wrist'.

Got a few questions that i desperately need answers for-
Is that is there any possibility at all that I will be considered for a hospital post?
Are there any hospital pharmacists out there with a caution?
How long does a caution stay on an enhanced CRB check?
Has anybody ever interviewed somebody with a caution?
Should I even bother applying for hospital pre-reg and a future career in this sector?

any help would be appreciated, thx

I believe you have already asked this question and had it comprehensively answered.

I know people who work in NHS hospitals with cautions for what could be perceived as worse offences than yours. Employers have the right to discuss with you about your criminal record. Most, I think would be willing to overlook past minor misadventures for the right candidate, particularly if the person is upfront about their history.

A small point for note, we have just advertised for a band 6 and have received over 50 applications. Given our usual scoring systems, we would have interviewed over three quarters of the applicants. With such a large number of applicants, employers are looking for the smallest thing to differentiate candidates...unfortunately, this is where your past might let you down.

I guess we are seeing a big increase in people applying for jobs and I put this down to two factors:
    1. The newer Pharmacy schools (Kent, Reading etc...) graduates are now becoming qualified and looking for jobs
    2. There is a definite increase in Irish applicants, presumably due to the jobs shortage over there

'we have just advertised for a band 6 and have received over 50 applications'
In the old days would have been lucky to receive one.

There is a jobs embargo in the Irish health service. No vacancies, even maternity or sick leave, are being filled and no hospital jobs are available so anybody wanting to work in hospital or gain experience has to leave the country. What a waste of the money spent to educate them.

Meanwhile many wards have no clinical pharmacy service and patients are discharged for community pharamcists to try to sort our their medication with no access to their records or test results.
