I'm a rotational pharmacy technician and should be taking a 16 week training programme (due to qualifying in community) in the Sterile Production Unit and the Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit, however, few weeks before rotation change my manager saw my hands, where I have clusters of warts on every single finger and thumbs. She asked for adivce from the managers in the lab and the QC technician, who have said I wouldnt be allowed in because of 'contaminating' products with the wart virus.
Does anyone know whether it would or know if the hospital they work would stop someone going into the production unit?
You need to eliminate the warts. For a girl, these would be considered disfiguring and justify a consultant treating. In the meantime perhaps the HPV vaccine may possibly help.

I have seen occupational health and work. He has said that the wart virus wouldnt really contaminate products if i wore gloves or even doubled gloved my hands. He had said that they would expect a surgeon with warts to double glove if he had warts, even though performing full open surgery as the virus would not carry in that way. I had the 3rd HPV vaccine in July. However since then, warts have grown bigger and new ones have formed. I have had them around 3-4 years and just get so annoyed and embarrassed about them.
