Reference dilemma for hospital pre-reg

I though it was just one reference that needs to be done on the pharmalife site but it says 2 are needed with one being from an academic referee. I have my academic referee sorted but the second referee I want to use is a pharmacist who already works at one of the hospitals I am applying to. Is this viable/good option to use them as a 2nd ref?

I think the non-academic referee needs to have known you personally for a while. If you have done a placement at the hosp where you are applying I suppose you could use the pharmacist who you were working with as a referee.

Well I could ask the community pharmacist I have worked under for 3 years to write me a reference?
