    Smile Hospital Post, Occupational Health

    Hi.

Can anyone help me understanding what happens when you have an occupational health interview after being offered a post in hospital pharmacy??

Can appointments for Immunology go against me etc?

    Thanks

Mine was simple: a quick health questionaire, sort out what duties you carry out and what health risks you may be exposed too so you can be monitored (ie if you work with cytotoxics, they may want to do baseline bloods and lung function). If you will be going on the wards they will offer you the Hep B vaccine. While they can prevent employment on grounds of bad health, it has to be very bad and a risk to patients. They are mostly there to look after your health while at work.

Exactly what Band 6 says above Laura. I know you have health issues but i've worked in hospital and had an occy health thing and it was fine. You'll be ok. I've got my interview tomorrow but it's only been a week since my op!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've asked for them to postpone it but they can't (or won't). So, i'm gonna hobble along like a little old lady and hope for the best.......
