    Entering Hospital

Could anybody please tell me how you get a hospital position, if all your previous experience has been in community and community alone? Any hospital position I see advertised always requires prior hospital experience, which rules me out automatically. If this is the case how does anybody who hasn't done part of their pre reg in Hospital, get into a clinical postion at all?

    Dial 999.

Or, just apply: from what I read they are DESPERATE for good staff, so you may not get thee job offered, but there is a good chance they will take you on anyway.
    ....just my opinion

Maybe it's the area you're applying in - not every hospital has hospital pre-reg training as a pre-requisite to get a Band 6 post. The thing you have to contend with is the fact that pre-regs have had the advantage of working for that hospital, familiar with all the staff and therefore easier to train.

yeah, i've seen band 6 posts being advertised which state that applications are welcome from community based pharmacists...and even if they state prior experience is required..whats the worst that can happen if you do apply?????? as long as you come across keen, clued up i'd go for it...you have to start somewhere

nhs jobs website is a good place to start, or even back of the PJ in the jobs section..most of it is done by online applications.....be careful to look through the job description and personal spec, and that you "fit" the criteria..
