I'm still waiting to hear back from hospitals. Has anyone heard from Brighton, Worthing or Surrey and Sussex? I'm actually going crazy now with worry. My thing still says awaiting approval. Please if you've heard from them let me know.
have you been accepted anywhere yet?
Im still waiting to hear back from one of my interviews and got three more to attend
i don think ill get a hosp place this time round due to lack of prep
Yes, I had an interview on Friday at 3pm and they made me an offer by 5pm. So delighted, the interviewers were really nice, asked me a few sticky questions but my personality came across well and I think that's what stood for me.
It's for Lewisham. I've heard there's alot to experience when you do a pre-reg there with pharmacist run HIV and anticoagulant clinics etc.. so I'm delighted.
I know that it's not as famous a hospital than many others but I firmly believe it's up to you to make the most of your own pre-reg and passing the exam.
As regards questions they asked:
Why I chose hospital?
Why I chose this particular hospital?
Where do I see myself in a few yrs time?
What is competency based training in connection with the pre-reg year?
Other questions were about my personaility etc..
There was also one about the pre reg tutor, what their role was, how would they be aware of my performance if they hadn't spent much time with me or had meetings?
If I think of any more, I'll let you know! Did the Great North Run today so pretty exhausted and can't remember anything else at ther moment!!
I have my hospital Pre-reg interview tomorrow, looking a some previous questions competencies seems to be coming up fairly freqiently. I was just wondering if any one could inform me of a few competencies that a Pre-reg is expected to fulfill as I was unsure. Would team working be an example for instance, and evidence would then be needed to support this? Perhaps calculations could be another? Am I on the wrong track completely?
I think you're on the right track, when I worked in Boots, we had to fulfill competencies of moral courage; the belief in one's own ability to carry out actions and the confidence to follow them throught to delivery. Working with others was another; working with other members of the team to deliver a better result. Professional expertise; expanding your knowledge etc.
