    Calculations

    Hi all

    Im an ACT just recently started in a hospital pharmacy. I am now required to check extemps - something i have never had to do in community as they were all 'made' externally. I have found myself struggling with the calculations to double check formulas etc. I know that they have already been clinically checked by a pharmacist but would like to confirm what i am checking iykwim...

    Does anyone know any useful resources for learning the calculations - ive never been fantastic at maths - so am finding this a bit of a confidence crusher

    Pharmaceutical Calculations published by Pharmaceutical Press has loads of good examples of extemp calculations as well as dilutions, parenterals, etc.
