I assume this is in a hospital?

ATO's assist the technicians and pharmacists. The role will vary some between hospitals. In the hospitals I have worked in they do not dispense as technicians do - but fill stock orders / go onto the wards to check stock & top-up to specified levels / fill robot / take in prescriptions / answer telephone etc. These roles are evolving all the time so check with them what you should expect. If you haven't worked in this area before they will assume that you won't have a clear idea of what is involved.

You don't need to undergo qualifications necessarily, but you be offered the opportunity to undergo NVQ's & eventually become a technician.

    prepare fpr Qs like
why have you applied to this job?
why do you want to get involved in health care jobs (when you have a computer science degree).
why do you know about the position applied for (ATO)?
    ...etc
you need to convince them that you are suitable for the job, so prepare well for your interview.
    Good Luck
