Buspar had a short vogue, quickly superceded by more modern tratments.

It wouldn't hurt to try it for generalised anxiety, but it is not used for panic disorder or other types of anxiety. Buspirone is not addictive and withdrawal symptoms are very minimal compared with SSRIs.
