    Lightbulb Androgens and their effects

Hello. My question is do androgen-type drugs have similar (adverse) metabolic effects to corticosteroids?

ie would you generally associate outcomes such as hyperglycemia/diabetes mellitus with their use? similarly, would adrenocortical insufficiency be an expected side effect?

(My instinct is 'no', but I'd appreciate any one's thoughts)

just to clarify, but in what context do you need this comparison? Are you looking for a comparison of pros/cons anabolic steroids vs androgens for the purpose of bodybuilding, etc? Or just a general comparison?

As part of a project I'm looking at ADRs recorded in patient medical records and the drugs associated with them.

When looking at ADRs linked to 'Androgens and their anabolic congeners' a few of the above were mentioned and they don't sound right to me. I didn't know that there was much legitimate use for anabolic steroids/testosterone anymore any yet they're linked to quite a few ADRs.

I hope that clarifies what I am hoping to find out.
