    I have seen this advertisment.

Is it legal to sell this in the UK? If a company was selling this in the UK what are the logal consequences?

    I've had a quick look.
Its not licensed as a medicine so anyone can sell saltwater in this country. Looks like its licensed and sold as a food suppliment in the US. It doesn't not appear to have a US medical license.

Making medical claims (as this appears to do) for a non-medicinal product would breach advertising standards guidelines.

Its just water, salt and vitamin C mixed to produce chlorine dioxide thats a fairly harsh pathogen killer.

As a pharmacist I would not recommend this product as it has not been medically proven or tested for safety as far as I can see.

Chlorine will kill anything in vitro, will not work in vivo.

    Hi

If I had a bad reaction to this would the authorities take action against the seller?

No - it would be at your own risk in the same way that if you went to Halfords and bought some brake fluid to drink because you'd seen on the internet that it cured baldness.

This is going to do nothing for you. If it was that good it would be available on prescription.

Its basically a bleach solution and it says on the site its for purifying water! Its like those water purification tablets that people take camping.

WE used to have a chlorine gargle so perhaps it might be good for a sore throat.
