Co-proxamol turned me into a bigger fruit loop than I already am, so does codeine so I swore the strongest painkillers I would over take again were paracetamol. I was lucky enough to cope without morphine after an operation I had a couple of years ago too.

I am just a mere man and had a morphine pump attached after my hip op. The first night I pressed the button a good few times. Next day very sick.

I think your op was bigger than mine, I only have a six inch scar down my stomach. I had an emergency hysterectomy ten years ago and did press the morphine button lots of times for that one. My excuse then was I was told if I felt pain press the button. I wasn't really aware that it was morphine until the day after. Two years ago I knew what was coming so tolerated the pain better.
Having a hip hop is entirely different kettle of fish. Please excuse the poor pun but I'm in that type of mood.

If we're talking about scars: 15 cms- beat that!

    Morphine drip: check
    Constantly pressing the button: check
Getting confused after waking up because the recovery room was pink: check
Throwing up my oral morphine: check

    Sympathy this way please...

My wife is due her op at end of August. She is proposing to opt for an epidural and midazolam after my projectile vomiting.

Unholyteddy 15cm IS approximately 6 inches so johnep's is bigger than yours. Sorry no sympathy because you must be young to not know imperial measurement conversions. Approx 2.5cm to the inch.

Erm...I was joking! I am young, and thank you, I definitely know my metric/imperial conversions. They were drilled into me when I was 3.
Most people my age don't even know what they are.

I did not give a length but was thinking like a fisherman at the time. Just this moment got my wife to do the honours (she did query what she was supposed to be measuring!), and regrettably mine is only 9cms. So nothing to speak of. 15cms is the record so far.

Just need someone with a chest op now.
