UK Degree how do I move to and work in Canada as a pharmacist?

    Hi Guys,

I was hoping you could help me. I've done a 4year Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) in the UK, i've also completed my one year pre-reg in 2006. Since 2006 i've been practising as a pharmacist, and am a pre-reg tutor for the second time. What do i need to do to become a Practising pharmacist in Canada, and how long does it take? Any advice is muc appreciated...Thanks

very interesting. As a Cnadian pharmacist, I am moving to the UK and have to do OSPAP : (

it is much easier to be a pahrmacist in Canada. here is the official link for you:
Welcome to the PEBC Website for Pharmacists!

follow the instructions, step by step. you will be qualifed very soon.
    1. take your equivalent exam
    2. qualifying exam (written and oral)
    3. either 160 hr tot 500 hr internship depends on ur experinece
    4. law exam (depends on which province you are going to register with)

    hope this helps : )

i mean the easiness in terms of time scope. If you can pass all the exams on time, I believe that you can be a qualified pharmacist within 6 months.

I havent done my OSPAP yet, but it is going to take 2 years to be a qualified pharmacist in UK only under the condition that everything goes smoothly. I also checked the information provided by you guys, so I assume that it is very difficult and takes lots of hard work to be a licensed pharmacist in UK.

I was working in industry in Asia, and prepared for my exams after work at the same time. Of course, I did study hard for those exams. however, I believe the quality of pharmacy education in UK. It will not be too difficult for a qualified UK pharmacist to obtain a license in Canada. still, you have to prepare for those exams and study hard.

If you would like to have the list of textbooks that I used, I am happy to share with everyone.
