Is there anyone who wants to work in KSA as a pharmacist?

I sent maroshka (a member of this forum working in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) a PM saying that:

    "Dear maroshka

I'm sharif, doing my B. Pharm in Bangladesh and it'll be completed some days later. I'd be grateful if u'd inform me how to be registered in Saudi Arabia to work there as a pharmacist

I think u dont mind my saying so but if there is any way in which one overseas pharmacist can be registered in Saudi Arabia, pls let me know. Actually i did'nt get any USEFUL website in this regard..........

I hope to hear from u soon

    Thank u again"

Maroshka sent back me another PM just like that:

    "Hello sharif,
to be registered in KSA first u have to pass an exam from the
saudi council for health care specialities for pharmacist, u will find all the details about this exam inn this site www.2test.com and u can see if it's available in your country becoz it's done in any center which is offering all prometric exams, next will have to submit all ur papers including the exam plus experience certificate for not less than 2 years and the BLS certificate to SCFHS and this will not be done unless u r not here in KSA .
so u have to apply for a job after 2 years of experience and when u will have employer that time u can issue ur license..."

Now I'm posting another massage for Maroshka and other members if they could help me:

    Dear maroshka

I’m really grateful to you that you informed me the process in brief.

After passing the prometric exam taken from my nearest test center how long maximum time will they allow me to submit my papers for the next step (what is the next step? Is it the final step for registration?)?

I think SCFHS should not have any dissatisfaction if I gain the BLS certificate from my own country. Should they really have any dissatisfaction can you tell me from where I can get this certificate?

Am I allowed to do job in Saudi Arabia to get two years experience before submitting all my papers? If not, should I do job in my own country to gain this experience? In what job sector should I do job? I’m saying this because in my country hospital pharmacy sectors are scarce, community pharmacy is totally absent and only industrial pharmacy is available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and I’ll be further helped if you answer my questions with patience.

Is there any other who can help me anyhow?

    Hi there
maroshka has sent back me this PM. If anyone has suggestion for me pls let me know:

"the exam is valid for 2 years only. and there are many stepsafter taking the exam
    1st, taking the exam
2nd, finding emplyer to have ur visa to saudi arabia
3rd, prepare ur paper including 2 years experience in any sector of practicing pharmacy , BLS ( i think its better to be taken from here to be accepted but idont know if u can take from ur country or not)
4th all ur paper should be stamped from all official sites like from example for us we r stamping from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then from the saudi embassy to be accepted here in the MOH os saudi arabia
5th submit ALL these papers to MOh by ur employer
    thats all"

This is routine in many countries, ie you have to be in country first, and have a sponsor. This is to prevent too many people flooding in. Also to prevent possible fraud with papers being sold on to third parties.

just something you will have to live with.

Does anyone know if it is possible for a woman to work as a community pharmacist in KSA? I am already living in KSA (husband's job) and would like to work but so far as I can tell the only jobs available to me are in hospital.

Many countries, I know it is so in Bermuda, will not allow the wife to work. Many expat wives in Bermuda volunteer at the local hospital. Either that or join a tennis club and enjoy the attentions of the young coaches. I was amazed at the amount of Premarin stocked in Bermudian pharmacies.
You will have to jump through all the hoops as outlined in this thread. Probably when have done so, will be time to leave.

Thanks Johnep....pretty much what I thought. I'm quite enjoying being a full-time mum but worried about getting a job when we return home.

My mother said to me, 'make the most of them while they are young, they grow up so quickly'. she was right.
Probably you will need a refresher course on return home. I was a career advisor and promoted pharmacy to the girls as a way of getting out of the house, say on a Saturday morning and preparation for when the birds fly the nest.
    Good luck.
