    Pre-reg appliaction fee

    Dear all,

Having recently received an email from my tutor, I was happy to complete the form until I reached the final part relating to a Pre-registration application fee of £174. Entering training | General Pharmaceutical Council

From all the pre-regs I have spoken to, none have ever mentioned this fee? I am aware of the GPhC fees post registration.

Have I not kept my eyes peeled wide enough?

Nothing to worry about - everyone has to pay this fee. I paid mine in the January/February of my final year. Depending on which sector you do your pre-reg in and who it's with, you may get this fee reimbursed when you start your pre-reg.

Oh ok, I am also in my final year. I start with Lloyds this July.

Out of curiosity and aided by a quick google search, doctors and other practitioners also pay a fee for professional practice. I guess its fair for everyone then. Maybe I just speak to the lamenting pharmacists :s
