    FREE services for all.

Do we overuse the word FREE in a way that devalues the services that pharmacy provides?

We offer a FREE collection and delivery service. The PSNC is promoting 'Get a Free Medicines Check from your Local Pharmacist'.
Do we ask "do you get FREE prescriptions?" Join our Free smoking cessation service.

Are we saying that customers are getting something for nothing (nobody will believe that) or are we saying that the services have no tangible value.
We don't treat other services like this. People don't say "I'm going for a FREE knee operation" or having a "FREE consultation with my GP".

Is it enough to say "NHS Medicines Check", "NHS quit smoking service" with the NHS implying no charge at the pint of delivery.
Perhaps the message we should be saying is "You need this service and the NHS will provide it."
Maybe if we don't promote our services as being FREE people will realise that we can't provide the services for FREE.

Correct. Helena Rubinstein doubled her sales when she doubled her prices. People do not value that which is free. many companies offer 'free' credit checks or 'free' car insurance. Still require you to sign up for a contract.
England is promoted overseas by people traffickers who promise free housing and free health care to would be illegal immigrants.
