    Starting an internet pharmacy?

Any advice on this, or what exactly it would entail, the kind of costs involved, etc. I'm on the understanding that, in comparison to opening a normal pharmacy premises, it is actually very easy to get it approved (in England anyway, not sure about Scotland and Wales). But I have no idea exactly how to get the ball rolling, what kind of procedures would need to be in place, etc. I've been qualified 2 years, have no problems getting a decent space to work from, storage, even the website isn't a problem. But from then on, not even sure what would be the next steps, and exactly what you are allowed to do and not do. Would be thinking more along the lines of covering a small area (perhaps just one large city or that region), as covering a small niche of the market is preferable to trying to go nationwide and end up running into competition from the big players.

You have got good thoughts. But, Apart from all that you mentioned you hae, the main thing you lack INMHO is the customer base. Have you worked in any particular area for a long time that the customers connect with you ???

There are categories of pharmacy that do not need to demonstrate that they are necessary before getting a contract. 100 hour pharmacies are one and internet/distance selling pharmacies are also. So Get on the PSNC website and learn all you need to know about how to apply for a contract etc then apply.

I think small niche is too small to make a living. Think BIG and you may scratch one at first. However given time who knows? Pharmacy2u has the biggest Pfizer account in Europe so great things are achievable.

I did have a look at that, but was looking for some pointers and the kind of costs involved in setting one up, perhaps if anyone here knows someone who did it or has first-hand experience?
EDIT: For a small, local type of internet pharmacy, was thinking more along the lines of creating one where there is a lack of pharmacies, and a real need for a very focused collection and delivery service -

Not all the elderly are silver surfers. Majority have no idea how to use a computer or mobile phone.

If there is such a lack you may as well apply for a full contract. I think you are targetting too small a client base
