......on the 25th of July.....when the generic is launched. I will be very happy if I never have to order a single pack of Femara ever again. All of our letrozole prescriptions are written generically and I frankly don't have time to be faxing Novartis. As most of you will know, Femara is on quota to wholesalers and the Novartis emergency supply system is not exactly user-friendly. It would be especially helpful if their fax machine was not constantly engaged; it is as if they don't want you to be able to get through.
Teva are due to launch on the 25th July when the patent expires but I expect numerous other companies will also be launching their products. The MHRA website shows that they have granted MAs to a number of manufacturers. I know some patients have missed doses of Femara due to the supply issues - I don't think this will happen in future.
