Not all pharmacists are created equal!!!

Ive noticed that some pharmacists are totally crap, as in they dont act professionally and fail to be team players and do things like put stock away. Some are too busy on the phone or facebooking to even pay attention.....

Ive also noticed that some pharmacists are friendly, team players and total professionals.

THE PROBLEM: Both of these pharmacists are paid the same regardless, why is this the case surely, they must be some reward for professionalism and quality of pharmacist.....

I just find it unfair....should i also forget professionalism and act like an arse...........Whats a good pharmacist and whats a bad one, does the moment you get registered mean you are no longer humble, kind and professional....

I work in a busy supermarket pharmacy and we thrive on locums. One of our regular locums is constantly texting, playing games, talking to friends on the phone, always has at least 30 minutes waiting time and often disappears to do shopping, so now when he is working I do everything 'by the book'. i.e. if he leaves the pharmacy, even for a toilet break, nothing goes through the till or gets given out. We had 3 dispensing errors last period and all were when this pharmacist was working. I cant really say anything as this pharmacist is married to my manager. I have thought about going to my store manager but dont want to create bad feeling.

Unprofessional conduct is not restricted to pharmacists. I know how you feel though

My supermarket don't, or at least not a publicised one.

Store managers could still be the better option here, they tend to get very involved with locums when possible as they have to budget for their pay. My store manager was more than happy to walk in and have a go at a locum who he thought he was sitting doing nothing (he was writing up a private script). That being said, my store manager would probably have any unoccupied locums stacking shelves on the shop floor if he could.
