    npa course module 2

    hello there i am on module 2 of npa dispensary assistants course stuck on q what do you do if doctor has not signed prescription i thought i would ring surgery explain problem request new script to be faxed so patient waiting at the dispensary can be given medication , but what do you do with the unsigned script ? send back or keep until new script is sent from moonlight

    You are correct. Destroy the unsigned script when new one received. In practice, script usually dispensed unless CD and sent next day to sgy for signing. Under PCS, the surgerys are visited every day so no big problem.

    thank you so much i can now send off for marking and start module 3 pharmacy law and ethics (gulp) am sure i will need more advice , once again thank you . moonlight

    hello all ,moonlight here, have been told there are case study questions in a 2 hour exam at the end of npa module 3 book, any advice on how i can test myself or practice doing case studies to get confident doing this type of exam. moonlight

    hello all, moonlight here, i have been told that there is a 2 hour case study exam at the end of npa module 3 book any advice on how to practice /revise for this exam to feel more confident and well prepared please moonlight.

    Hi , is that law and Ethics? I finished mine about a year and a half ago (dont know if the course has changed). I had to do a test where you could take the drug tariff and other material in. As long as you know how to look things up in the tariff then its easy enough. As far as case studies go revise the relavent topics which you have worked through. The case studies will just be about what the module covered so make sure you swat up on that. Good luck

    yes it is the law ethics and practice and you can take in books so must be same one, my module 4 will be about using the drug tariff book as far as i know,thanks a lot for your advice sadly most of my study is done at home in between washing ironing etc, two teenagers to sort out and husband ,and smallholding lol , time at work for training supposed to be 2 hours a week ha ha ha i am supposed to have completed my course by june!! not to worry will get it done eventually,this forum is such a help thanks everyone.

    I didnt have any revision time at work either. Had to be done at home, im guessing its what a lot of places are like. Fear not. You will be fine

    just a query if patient comes in sat afternoon has come away on holiday for 1 week and asks for emergency supplies of furoseamide 40mg 1 in morning and lisinopril 2.5 tabs 1in morn and 1 at night should the pharmacist give 1 weeks worth eg 9 furosemide and 18 lisinopril to last for the week round until monday morning when he should be back home and able to get a script at his own surgery ,or is pharmacist right to give just 2 furosemide and 4 lisinopril and tell them to register temporarily with a surgery on the monday to get a script whilst away on holiday ?? moonlight
