    100 hour pharmacies - help !!

Know some GP's who have asked me for help in setting up a 100 hour pharmacy, they have a NHS contract and location.

Could anyone suggest pieces of advice or things to consider, so I can pass on to them.

They are paying me for consultancy work, I'ii chip you guys in !!

Seriously, any buisness, professional, practical or logistical help would be appreciated.

I can provide pharmaceutical services depending on the location. Also what's my cut on this if I provide some amazing tips and tricks.

hmm, so basicly anyone who isn't working for a pharmacist owned pharmacy is "judas" incarnate...doesn't that make like half of all pharmacists judases. Anyone working for B****, L*****, supermarkets etc... etc...

most pharmacists don't have the choice. If the 100 hour pharmacy is in an area without adequate pharmaceutical services, then hats off to the gp's for finding an opening. But the cynical part of me sees it as another step towards pharmacys being rental income generators for gp's. I'm old fashioned and like high streets and secondary shopping areas.

Working alongside GPs and other HCPs can only help the profile of our profession whereas you can work your behind off for a multiple and at the end of it all you're just a number in their vast organisation.

I'm sure if there wasn't adequate local service supply the the Doctors wouldn't need to use the 100hrs loophole.

On the rental front it will depend on whether then pharmacy is going to owned and run by the dr's or whether they are just renting the space. In my experience dr's invariably overestimate the profitability of pharmacies and the rental has been know to put them out of business.

Developers are always keen to tell Drs 'rent out a pharmacy site and the rent will cover nearly total cost'.
