I did my pre-reg with them a few years ago and certainly at that time there was no requirement to wear a uniform. From my experience their pre-reg training was very good. There was only twelve or fourteen of us and we used to have training sessions about every two months where they got everyone together at a hotel near HO e.g. a calculations session, management training etc etc. I now work elsewhere and although I feel I was probably better off with Rowlands than I am in my current position my former work mates tell me they're going very much the way of Boots, Lloyds etc but then I guess just about everybody is.
You make it sound quite cool! I really hope I like it. I delibrately avoided the large companies like lloyds and boots because I think they dont care about training and just want you to ask as a sales person in their stores...I did a summer placement with boots about 2 years ago and it was such a horrible expereince! Made me reconsider if I wanted to pharmacy at all! LOL. Then I worked in a hospital for a while and that got me back on track lol.
Thanks for the info![]()
Rowlands are pretty good and you won't have to wear an uniform! Their pre-reg training is brilliant and the trips to hotel by the HO in Runcorn are really good fun. Probably depends a lot on your tutor though. I still work for them and can't complain really. They're getting more and more like Lloyds/Boots but still over all I think they're a much nicer company to work for!
