an emergency supply of a P med is sort of self-defeating. emergency supplies arent done through the NHS and as such need to be charged for at the pharmacist / business discretion. A P med does not need the authority of a prescription to be supplied therefore can simply be sold under the supervision of a pharmacist.
A prime example of this is someone coming in for an emergency supply of a GTN spray. They don't need a prescription because it's a P medicine and can simply buy one off you instead. It's then up to the patient if they want to get a prescription from their GP for another one at a later date.
