    Alliance Healthcare - thumbs down

Now that Alliance/Unichem are making record profits (partly due to their monopoly on the supply of certain products), could someone please tell me why they are unwilling to employ enough staff to answer the telephone? I find this highly unsatisfactory. Other wholesalers such as Phoenix have the decency to employ an adequate number of customer service staff.

Generally a common failing amongst the big companies.
Automated switchboards with several nested menus don't help when the scripts are stacking up.
Usually ask one of the counter staff to dial the number and wait - otherwise we get too far behind.
Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
    What do you want?;..................

Yeah, I just find that Alliance is particularly bad in this respect. I suppose they think that now they are so powerful they don't need to keep their customers happy.

Phoenix on the other hand always have someone to answer the phone, which is how it should be.

I don't deal with AAH at the moment so I'm not sure how they're doing.

Until the MD or their family has a prescription and gets let down by them!

I have dealt with Unichem/Alliance both before the merger and after the merger, and have to say, all my colleagues and I saw it go downhill once it became part of the same company as Boots..

I hear that Alliance HC are cutting staff to increase profits. Now that they have more customers than ever before, and are making large profits, I find it ridiculous that they leave you on hold for so long when you only need to ask a simple question.

Customer service is regarded as a non revenue earner. Ask for Sales dept and get transferred internally.

Alliance HC are very good at blowing their own trumpet, always telling us how fantastic they are. It's almost nauseating. I wonder whether the CEO can get through when she calls the depot? She must have her own number.
