    Adventures of a Tablet Counter

    Hey,

I made a schoolboy error that resulted in all my posts getting deleted! My duplicate posting days are over however, and I've turned my back on a life of forum crime to bring you this message...

I've just graduated with my MPharm and I'm about to start my pre-reg. I've decided to chart my progress, my thoughts and all the weird stuff that happens in a community pharmacy through the next year on my new blog. Come check it out if you're a student to see what life's like as a pre-reg, if you're a pre-reg to see what someone else is going through and if you're a pharmacist to say "thank god he's not in my shop".

    Adventures of a Tablet Counter

    Luvz,

    Enzo

As someone that is about to start their pre-reg too, it'll be interesting to see how other trainees are getting on. Added to bookmarks.

The GSOH is there, but there is no SOP that permits it's use.

Then write one, it can't be that hard.

"On at least three, but no more than five, occasions each day the pharmacist must do or say something that gets all staff laughing out loud."

Tripping over usually works best with my lot. Any other suggestions for meeting my quota?

You could try what I did yesterday, crouch down, lose you balance and roll backwards. The other dispenser nearly wet herself!

The problem is, you'd also have to write seperate SOPs for horseplay, shenanigans, jiggery pokery and monkey business to cover all eventualities. Plus you'd have to undertake a risk assessment in case someone actually pisses themself laughing - if someone slips and falls on it then you could start getting into a viscious cycle of people peeing themselves, someone falling then someone laughing so hard they wet themselves. And will that get the dosette boxes done? Hmm? Hmm? Eh?

At this stage I've put so much time, effort and creative energy into writng my SOPs that I'm thinking of publishing them as a modern novel - you know the kind, one nobody understands but won't admit it. Then I could have a good laugh as intellectuals debate what insights my opus offers into modern life. I might even make Newsnight Review.

All I'm lacking is a good title. Any suggestions?

"SOPs - From RPSGB to GPhC"

    "Sop story"

"They Made Me Do It: One Man's Journey Through the Heart of Pharmacy"

    "Hayne's Manual: Community Pharmacist"

If you need a pen name or three, you could go as "Stan Dard, Oprah A. Ting and Pru C. Dure"
