Finding a job in the Bradford area

    Hi Everyone,

I need advice from experienced pharmacist about my situation and I would be very grateful for any support..I qualified as a pharmacist on July 2009, I had a baby 3 weeks just before my pre-reg exam. therefore naturally I could not start working soon after my registration.

On September 2009, I started working as a relief pharmacist for Boots in the Hull area and I was living in Bradford.. Having 3 months old baby and travelling to a job with great responsibilities was too much, therefore I left the job on November 2nd; and I am unemployed since then because I couldn't find a job in the Bradford area

I really want to work, part-time form one day a week to 4 days a week... I was told by one of my friend (pharmacist) if I did not start working before June 2010, no one will hire me

    Please help me!

Contact the locum organisers of Lloydpharmacy, Boots and Rowlands and a few supermarkets to see if they need any cover on Saturdays - they always need Saturday cover. If you can't find them any other way go into one of their branches and ask. You might get a booking or two there and then.

You will probably feel uncomfortable "cold calling" like this and you might get the cold shoulder but you'll get used to it.

Apply for a full time post when you find somewhere you like.

Good advice, always demand for OOH cover and this is often when husband home to look after baby.

phone up locum agency, get a job on saturday usually quite, then do a few days during the weekend if you can. Supermarkets and other 100 hour pharmacies are a good place to start to find your feet. I think if you work for any of the big companies you will be under too much pressure in your cirmcumstance. PM me if you would like some agency numbers

There is an ad for a recruitment agency at the bottom of this forum - Call him - he's good to speak to. There are plenty of jobs in West Yorkshire.
