The new BNF 59 in a lovely lilac colour is now available online (and from online bookshops).
Interesting changes to the appendicies - May affect those "taggers" and those doing the pre-reg exam so make sure you have the correct copy!

Updated prescribing information
Prescribing in hepatic and renal impairment, pregnancy, and breast-feeding
BNF 59 now includes information on prescribing for patients with hepatic or renal impairment, or who are pregnant or breast-feeding, within the relevant chapters instead of as separate appendices towards the back of the book. The information can now be read in context with the other prescribing information. The layout is similar to that in BNF for Children, with the messages adjacent to bold headings so that they can easily be found.

Yebut, nobut, yebut. The renal impairment part has disappeared and now appears under the individual drug. No, hang on, that's a good thing.

Where was I? Oh yeh, if you have to pay for it yourself (like what I do) it costs, with postage and packing, £34.99 which is, er, well, not all that bad actually.

The colour is good! I admit to being a tagger - I just have to find coloured co-ordinated tags to go with it

This is my pre-reg edition I think, I was dreading having to have something like the 55 (bright yellow) to haunt me for the year - though I suppose less likely to lose it if its luminious.

Interesting to see about the appendices going. Guess I'll have to see how it looks in the flesh before I make my mind up, but I suppose in practice this is useful.

could be a little confusing if the renal impairment sectins are under individual drugs....but hey ho......a new colour, so can't complain!!

Remember that old BNFs can be valuable text books for Techs, students etc. They are also collected for despatch overseas to pharmacy schools in Africa and elsewhere where there are few text books.

Do you know the name of the company who ships old BNF's out or how to send them? I do have a couple of old (untagged) clean editions but I don't know who to send them to.
