there must be some pharmacists out there without any degree. My late father qualified in 1952 from Robert Gordons, before it was a degree course
My late pre-reg tutor had a PhC qualification. I believe it stood for 'Pharmaceutical Chemist'? Please correct me if I'm wrong there, Johnep! Just as a by-the-way, degrees in Scotland were always four years long. It was to compensate for the fact that the Scottish 'Higher' qualification took one school year, as opposed to English 'A levels', which took two years.
Yes, I took the Ph.C in 1956 and the B.Phm in 1958. Actually registered 16th Jan 1957. Was able to do Saturday locums during my last year at uni.
The first two years of the degree course were equivalent to the Ph.C and as I had already done two years apprenticeship was able to register.
On my business card I had B.Phm, Ph.C, M.P.S.
Reason I just didn't do the two years of the Ph.C was because they would only give a grant for a course in which honours can obtained.
