    PCT essential services monitoring visit

    Hi guys,

Has anyone had an essential service monitoring visit from the PCT?

Did any issues get raised? What should I expect?

Yes and quite recently. They check the SOP's and that they are all being complied with everyday. They question the Pharmacist about the SOP's too. They want to know where the signposting/minor ailments/CD/SOP folders are and someone inspects them. There were two people and they took it in turns to raise the questions and issues on their checklists.

The visit seemed to last ages but really took only 50 minutes ish. Anything that isn't being done on a regular basis will be mentioned and they write everything down. We had a Tech as well as the Pharmacist dealing with the PCT folk as together, we could cover everything. I didn't feel they were looking to trip us up or have a go at us. We found them quite helpful with a couple of issues.
    Hope that helps.

our pct seem quite approachable, they send a self audit form for us to fill in before visit and then went through the checklist
