I asked who I should write to with an official complaint and got a department name - was told they couldn't give me the name of a person in case I was an animal rights activist. I now have a system for this (since I was unable to get Topamax for an epileptic child).

Ask for the person you're speaking to's name, and then tell them you'll be passing their name and number to the parent of the child, so they can explain to the parent why their child can't have medicine they need. Funnily enough, it suddenly seems they can supply after all.

Proctor and Gamble employees apparently don't have names. If you press really hard you might be lucky enough to get a first name but that's as far as it goes.

Record the message for "staff training," and when they ask which company, say the Daily Mail.

    Nice one.
You could also say that the patient is related to a friend of the managing director's golf professional.
If that doesn't work, the Kray twins?

Not had any problems with that one.

Anyway, you can get emergency supplies from Sanofi-Aventis if necessary. The number to call is 0800 854 430. There is no delivery charge.

Good point. Sanofi products are often out-of-stock. They impose ordering quotas on wholesalers.

Just watched the item re shortages on BBC news. Raj Patel, as usual was interviewed. However, another pharmacist was shown dropping tablets from his hand into a king counter.
Please remember that when you are interviewed, be especially careful. Pts may not appreciate handling of tablets..
