What are my options after failing three times?

Perhaps it is too early for me to ask as I haven't had a chance to sit not even one exam but I thought it would be better to explore my options as early as possible. I wanted to find out what a pharmacy graduate could do in terms of employment after failing pre-reg exams. And if the topic was already discussed elsewhere please direct me to it. I would appreciate it. thanks.

Best thing to do is not worry about such things because it can only lead to added stress my advice would be to concentrate on reading that BNF and practising calculation every day and then worry about such thing when you have to deal with it!

If worse comes to worse you could become a pharm tech! http://www.pharmacyregulation.org/si...Oct%202011.pdf

Jzd4rma is absolutely right of course. Chances are you won't fail. Pass rate is up in the 90's IIRC. If the worst does happen, you've got a good degree, which could, perchance lead you, after a PGCE or other relevant qualification, to teaching. Alternatively there are often vacancies in industry which don't require registration. Or you could do something in which a good grounding in science would be an advantage.

But, as I said, jzd4rma's advice is very sound!

Thank you all for getting back. I will definitely try my best. With the support and warm thoughts it sounds much better. Good luck to myself and all pre-regs out there!

I am not so sure about that... the criteria/qualifications doesn't mention MPharm degree...

That is simply because they could not envisage anyone with a degree wanting to be a tech, when majority of techs may only have a few GSCEs.

Technicians in community may well just have a basic education. Technicians in hospital may well have a science degree.
However, we have enjoyed 60 years of chronic shortage of pharmacists. One employer said at the interview that 'pharmacists were like snow in summer'. Now we are getting back to conditions in the 30s.
