    Speedy ETP

My new boss received an Rx with an ETP barcode on Saturday. He dispensed it manually on Sat but kept it to one side for us to play with at our leisure.

I scanned the barcode at 15.25 9/7/07. Just to see how the system worked.

We received the Rx for labelling at 11.21 10/7/07.

I'm getting ready to print the new info posters for the pharmacy.

Rx waiting time will now be 20 hrs!

Looks like pharmacy is becoming more integrated with the NHS!

We now do 250 out of 500 items a day using the barcodes - they come back within 30 seconds or faster.
I have simply moved the barcode scanner so that they are scanned before being placed on the "to do" pile so by the time you get them the e-versions are already there.
The scanner beeps when a scan is done sucessfully so it does not have to be next to the computer.
