| ECD REG Electronic CD Register. Copyright 2006-2007, RAF Systems. ![]() Work is in progress on a new electronic cd register, and will be ready for testing within the pharmacy sector. Some pharmacies may have electronic cd-registers in place which are a part of their current labelling system, but this would most probably be the first independant one which can be used in any pharmacy alongside any existing labelling system. It can be used to replace or compliment existing written registers. It should be noted that making electronic records may become mandatory in the near future. Price to be set, what would you be willing to pay. One off payment, yearly licence, monthly licence or a combination. The software will not be released to the market until it has been fully tested. At the moment one independant pharmacy is testing the software, and another has shown great interest in it. Program Info: -lets you make both dispensed and received stock records. -legally completely and complies with all current legislation. -allows you to make backups and restore from backups. -previous entries can not be altered although error notes can be made. -change the colour of the interface. -simple 3 step method to make entries. -clear,concise laid out register. -print out hard copies of each page. -search using various filters such as patient name or prescriber. -user password, and user restrictions can be set -create as many sections as you need -help file included -online updates available -Calculates current stock balance automatically -Windows Vista Compatible. -Patient Profiles -All Logs/Backups saved on disk can be viewed using an external ecd reg reader. This can be installed on seperate pcs for inspectors or relevant bodies to use. For 14 day trial version Click Here I would be interested in selling the rights to the program if you are interested in purchasing/distributing or marketing. Please PM me for more information. | I wasn't aware that the eCD register requirements had been finalised. I assume that you have been in touch with the Pharmaceutical Society and the Home Office Chief Inspector? My big gripe about the CD regulations is that they are being 'trickled' in - which is something pharmacists don't like. My sources tell me that the reason why we don't have integrated CD registers in our software by now are .... 1. The final requirements have not been finalised. 2. The backup should be readable outside the software package. 50 entries isn't much - why don't you put a software key so that it can't be reinstalled on another system without people obtaining a new key and let people to a proper beta test for you. Barcode scanning of incoming stock would really make the process whiz along. Finally, as you are a software person you will realise the risks of deploying software that depends on windows components that can be updated automatically by microsoft (dot net) and thus render your software inoperable. Hope you don't mind me commenting. Last edited by Pharmanaut : 2nd, May 2007 at 11:21 PM. |

Sounds good, main problem is discovering should have entered on sugar free page instead of sugared methadone. General practice has been to update running total register at time of dispensing, then enter into CD reg at time of collection. Just love those addicts who come in as we are closing up! The problem with the new combined CD reg is only a few entries on each page and because it is a running total, have to enter totals for day for each entry. Perhaps you could put up a demo on the web for us to have a look at. johnep

With all the changes in policy re generic morphine tabs and fentanyl patches, got the register into a bit of a mess. found much better to keep different brands/forms as separate products rather than lumping together. ie Durogesic, matrigen, tilofyl would all have own pages as would sf and sugared methadone. Gets complicated with a different locum every day. johneo

hi, could someone post here a list of the most commonly used cd drugs (which have requirements for record making, sched 2) used in practice. as i am not currently working i dont have access to a cd register. electronic one you can have as many sections as you want. I have been advised that a new consultation will be out relating to cd requirements. The headings required for each section in the register will become 'standardised' and will have to be specific. Does anyone have links to any recent articles relating to new legislation for cd requirements (esp electronic form) in written records there is usually a cover sheet per section which has the name of the section on it. What information (legally and good practice) would pharmacists want on a cover sheet? Last edited by rafhelp : 15th, May 2007 at 01:02 PM.

Ethics book, probably available on RSPGB site lists all CDs in various groups. Regs in general mean that Subutex, Bup patches do not have to be entered. Methadone and fentanyl patches do need entering. these two account for 90% of entries. johnep
