    Editing Photos

I have used Paint Shop Pro V 4.12 and Arcsoft Photo Impression V3 for many years. However now have new computer running Windows 7 64bit and the discs (dating from 1998) will no longer load. Have tried compatibility prog but nbg. Tried to download 'free' PSP but found only free for 30 days and PSP8 far too complicated for me. A free version of PSP4.12 came along with a load of rubbish which took ages to delete and it still will not work. MS paint too simple. Now resigned to having to purchase suitable easy prog. Software supplied with new Fuji 2950 rather primitive. I need cloning tools etc.
    Any suggestions?

I use Gimp. It's not all that intuitive but it is free and has paint shop pro type tools that you are looking for.
GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

It may be easier for someone who already has some knowledge of these things. (Unlike me who learns as i go along!)

I am also purchasing PhotoPlus4 from Serif at special price. I have a Canon Pixmar IP4500 which I love because I can print on CDs/DVDs and the Canon software provided (after a downloaded patch) has an excellent printing prog.
Still in process of transferring software from old computer to new Dell XPS17 and expect a few more problems. Also purchased a Dell 1018 Netbook for mobile net use. This has no disc drive so got Sandiscs 8gb USB mem sticks and these work well. Cost £7.42 each. I remember when the cost of memory was quoted as $3/byte.
The Commodore was advertised as having an elephantine memory with 64kb. I did have a ZX81 with 1kb.
