A bit fiddly and counter-intuative, but OK overall. Quicker as you get used to it (like most systems!).

I've only dabbled with it (I usually work in an MDS unit that still uses SmartScript) but my biggest problem was that I am so used to the other system. Seems OK though. Ours is a bit slow, but that may be due to my company's reluctance to invest in hardware!

well it does slightly depend on the hardware your using in the pharmacy, but alot of pharmacies do leave their pcs on for weeks!! so that can really slow down alot of things on the pc in general. I think nexphase would really be a favorite with alot of pharmacies if it was just alot faster!

I would say the most important thing to do with NexpHase is DO NOT USE the bit of the system (I've forgotten what it's called) that organises when Mrs. Jones needs to order her next prescription. Setting it up takes over the whole system, and regardless of how many workstations you have, they will all take 5 minutes to respond to a single keystroke. The more information you have in that subsystem, the slower the whole system works. Keep to a manual system, or buy a better dispensary system, but don't even start that one!!!!!

yeah i agree scriptserve although when it works it works well, it struggles with performance and really brings down Nexphase, the good news, in nexphase 8.6, script serve has been completely re-worked, so should see huge increases of performance because of this!

All I have ever used is Nexphase, but it could be a hell of alot quicker. Although in all fairness it may be the computers in my pharmacy. Using scriptserve seriously slows the system down, as does having owings on the system. No technology is perfect though!
