    Re: Smartscript

Oh Ho!. When at BTC, charged VAT but till only had 'dispensary sale' or 'private script'. I seem to remember puting ES in as private scripts which means BTC got 17 1/2% extra while the govnmt lost out. BTC private scripts book has two price columns for non vat and vat. ES price had to go in the vat column.

Isn't the £4 charge the minimum charge Lloyds have for a private script? I can't remember the exact cost of one ventolin, but if adding 17.5% to it doesn't take it over £4 then the price won't change.

As for emergency supplies, everyone in this area just lends things to customers. I personally aren't happy doing this, so always use the "we can't do that when the surgery is open" excuse.

When I checked a much more expensive item, the computer cost was still 50% on cost rather than adding in VAT as well.

In smarscript, once you are in the patients file click on the patient tab (in bold) on the top left of the screen then go to the advanced tab to the right. There is a small check box on the right that says 'at risk' and underneath it a larger box for details. Once you have ticked the 'at risk' box anything you write in the details box will flash up on the screen when you go to label/copy/edit/ add a drug. This is only useful when the person labelling the rx dispenses it and in my experience is frequently ignored but hope this helps anyway!
