It's a potential problem with any new acquisition (by any company) - the staff don't enjoy change - it's stressful.

All over the country it seems managers are leaving to become locums and techs go to hospitals as soon as achieve qualification of nvq3.

I feel I may do the same... I hate the shop and frequent emails bombarding about MURs (we have a 'league table' to see who do the most MURs in the region, and so far we're at the bottom...)

When I did my pre-reg with them, they said there'll be a loyalty bonus of £10,000 after working for 4 years with them (including pre-reg)... so far this is my 2nd years and 7 months working with them...I don't know whether to stay til I got the money or look for a job somewhere else... probably everywhere is the same...?

What is 10K after tax and NI.
Would you have made this up with a higher paid job elsewhere?

Leaving Lloyds was best decision i ever made! This was before MUR's but the target culture was still evident. I think we had to try and push Family medical books etc. etc. The final straw came when we had a new area manager, not a pharmacist, his background was office supplies and didn't have a clue about pharmacy.

My branch was constantly above target for NHS and OTC but all they seemed bothered about was how many GP's i had visited to discuss the months relevant email bulletin about how great Lloyds were. What was really annoying was that as we were in a health centre we were constantly seeing the GP's and other staff, who regularly popped in or phoned for advice etc!!

Get out, money ain't everything!

Of the multiples, probably Sd pay best rates and are most relaxed, besides providing electronic MUR facilities.

This has turned away from the original IT thread but having managed for both Superdrug and Lloyds, smaller groups and independents get my locum services now.
