    Google Chrome Problems

I have been very happy with Google Chrome as browser until now. On inputting a query, I get directed to Ebay, dubious pharmacy sites and much worse. I have decided to delete and reinstall, but still the same problems. Often takes to other search and query sites.
Anyone else have problems with GC.?

I would recommended malwarebytes but after that install firefox browser.

In comarison to other browsers, firefox has been considered more strong pain killer for headache of spyware & malware in IT world.

For most users Internet Explorer is the simplest most easy to use browser. Keep it up to date and watch your browsing habits and you should be fine.
In February it was discovered that there were security leaks in some Firefox add-ons downloadable from the Mozilla web site. No browser is 100% secure.
The problem with most malware is that you agree (albeit unwittingly) to install it and many are not browser specific. This sounds like a coolwebsearch variant.

Good to hear that there was some leaks in Firefox add-ons but not in firefox browser. If so subscribe to Microsoft security rss than you might be able to see how many security patches they are releasing everyday and how many exploit in IE. I never said any browser is 100% secure and neither said Internet is not simple to use. I am big fan of microsoft too. In short, i want to say Firefox is one step ahead in browser by security wise. That's all.

I'm a great fan of Opera, which allows the community to report on dodgy websites and then notifies you if you try and get to one that you might have a problem.

Having said that, my main computer appears to have picked up a trojan: I bet its one of the stepdaughters running off things while visiting us (and using Explorer). I'm trying to sort it out, but its so long in the tooth now I might just get another one, rather than spend a shedload of time sorting it out.
    ....just my opinion

    Re: Google Chrome Problems

Microsoft are patching there browser against emerging vulnerabilities as they come along as are Firefox

    Mozzilla patches Firefox Bugs

As I have already said no browser is 100% secure. My point is that swapping browsers is neither a fix for an existing problem or a preventative from it happening again.

When the Antivirus2008 box pops up saying you have a virus it makes no difference which browser you are using it is your decision whether you install it or not.

Want the latest emoticons for MSN

No thanks I'll give that a miss.

I use Chrome all of the time and rarely experience any problems. I would suggest, as previously mentioned that you have picked up a trojan.

Am I a trojan? I hope not as I regularly wage war against them. Seem to be a lot around at the moment including one which compromised my card details. Can never be too careful.
