CD Instalments on Compass

I am quite used to setting up instalment scripts on Pharmacy Manager with no problems. Today it was Compass and after a while I just gave up.
With PM it is all automatic, just put in start date total volume and dosage and off you go. With compass you have to insert volumes individually on a daily basis and very easy to make an error, the system then rejects and you have to start again.

Yeah I find it a total pain as well with Compass... I hate it where you need to work out what's the weendend's (and bank holiday's) dates and stuff if they want to take away the doses...

When I first did instalments on Compass I thought that I was doing it incorrectly and asked for the "correct" routine when a trained member of staff returned.

She told me that the method I was using was the only way. Being a former programmer I was appalled.

As for pre-packing and confirming dispensing of the instalments, it can take as long as preparing the methadone. I paticularly like the "Patient did not require medication" which is the only option for non collects. Computers are meant to tools to help, not adding chores that consume our valuable time.

This isn't going to be helpful, except for my BP....

....first time I worked with Compass, with a "trained" dispenser ("I never use it, the manager does it all"), at 8:45am the first customer was an addict. It took me until about 10:30 to dispense his single installment. Happily he was able to come back later. IIRC (as it's been a while since I used this pile of blank or blanks) you have to go into a menu that's not mentioned anywhere by pressing a key that's also not mentioned anywhere.... and then it gets more obscure.

I'd always said with PMRs, if you don't know how to use them, read the screen - it'll tell you somewhere. Not with this one

from main screen, press on alt +D (dispense) followed by installment que(f6). then go down the page to today's date, and the EASIEST way to print all the labels in one go is by pressing on pre-pack, NOT DISPENSE, as if you press on dispense then you need to go back and re-do everything.

alt+d
installment queue
alt+p (pre-pack) then press on the arrow pointing down, followed by another alt +p to print the next client labels.
if the system is not slow in the morning, you could print all the scripts, for 100 addicts in 2 mins! however it takes few mins to load a page sometimes.
alt+p followed by arrow point down, keep going till you pre-pack them all and get labels for all of them.

at the end of the day, you can press on dispense, for all the pre-packed ones, to get them off the screen, or NOT COLLECTED.

i just want more clarification when entering the scripts.

All compass keepers where I work simply dispense as if script just arrived and do not bother to use compass instalment facility. Another one for the RP!. As I have said before, Pharmacy Manager only sensible system.
