    Stock Control

Very impressed in SD today. We were very quiet so spent time looking for short dated stock. Using the till computer, it is possible to identify a product. Then find out the branches with most usage. A quick phone call and the surplus stock is on its way to where it can be used courtesy of AAH who do the carrier function.

I got a report out of Pharmacy Manager identifying stock which had not been dispensed for two years. This was a great help. (dead, excess, stock).

    The excitement...

Pharmacy Manager is a wonderful little invention isnt it? Apart from the endorsing.

I wouldn't like to be the one to have to get a computer to endorse correctly every time.
I don't mean just print the item you have dispensed; to me that's not endorsing correctly. A lot of Part VIII and part IX or part 7 and part 2 for our Scottish colleagues don't need any endorsing. The other difficulty is keeping it up to date; 300 new lymphoedema garments every month, and category M price changes......

Plus - does anyone know where _all_ the endorsing rules are written down?
I remember a booklet from the PSNC that detailed all the 'interpretations' that the PPA use, but do not publish. Such has witholding the first 10p of an out of pocket claim. Not allowing claims for telephone calls, and if you had two Urgent dispensings within 20 minutes of each other only the first was allowed, because you were deemed to be on the premises for the second one.

I once shifted £6000 of dead stock out of a SD.

And did I get any bonus that year - nope.
